Health-care crisis feared if OSU Med Center closes

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Officials with St. John Health System say they fear a health-care crisis in Tulsa if the OSU Medical Center closes.
St. John's chief financial officer Lex Anderson says that fear led hospital leaders to develop a proposal to operate the indigent care hospital.
Anderson wouldn't reveal details about St. John's meeting Wednesday with state Treasurer Scott Meacham, House Speaker Chris Benge and Senate President Pro Tem Glenn Coffee.
But he says he believes the three are committed to finding the best solution.
Anderson says there isn't enough space in other Tulsa hospitals to handle the 40,000 emergency room patients and the 10,000 patient hospitalizations.
